Focus and Scope
The Revista argentina de cardiología(RAC)is the official publication of the Sociedad Argentina de Cardiología. The journal is published bimonthly since 1934. Its main goal is to spread original scientific papers of the different specialties of the Argentine cardiology. The journal also publishes brief reports, review articles and case reports, among others. The Revista argentina de cardiología is distributed among the members of the Sociedad Argentina de Cardiología and other subscribers.
Section Policies
Editorials
These usually comment and analyze an article appearing in that issue of the Journal. They may include one figure or table. They are generally invited articles, although very rarely an unsolicited editorial may be considered. Editorials are limited to 1200 words and up to 15 references.
Original Articles
These are scientific reports of the results of an original basic or clinical investigation. The text is limited to 2700 words, with a summary of up to 250 words (summary translated into English not to exceed 150 words), a maximum of 5 tables and figures (total) and up to 40 references.
Medical Education
Brief Communications
This is an original investigation. The background and discussion sections are shorter than in an original article. The text is limited to 2700 words, with a summary of up to 150 words (summary translated into English), a maximum of a 3 tables and/or figures (total) and up to 15 references.
Controversies
These are always solicited. A question about a relevant medical problem is asked and two authors designated by the Editorial Committee present the defense (agonist)
Consensus
Images in Cardiology
These present the readers with common and classic images related to several aspects of Cardiology. Images are an important part of what we do and learn in Cardiology. Thus, this modality attempts to capture the sense of discovery and visual diversity encountered by cardiologists.
Videos in Cardiology
Review Articles
Review articles are usually requested by the editors, from well-known local and foreign authors, but we will consider submissions of unsolicited articles. Please contact the Editorial Office before writing a review article for this Journal. All review articles are subjected to the same editorial and peer review process as original research articles. They can be written by various types of physicians (not more than 3 authors), who must not necessarily be cardiologists. Consequently they may include material which, for the specialists in that field might be considered introductory.
Opinion Articles
These articles are opinion essays. Tehy are similar to the editorials but are not related to any specific article published in that issue. Often, they contain opinions about health policy issues and are generally unsolicited. The text is limited to 2000 words.
Special Article
It includes personal data and conclusions, usually focusing on areas such as economic policy, ethics, laws or health care services. The text is limited to 2700 words, with a summary of up to 250 words (summary translated into English not to exceed 150 words), a maximum of 5 tables and figures (total) and up to 40 references.
Institutional information
Brief Reports
They usually describe 1 to 3 patients of the same family. The text is limited to 1300 words, with a summary of up to 100 words (summary translated into English, and an analytical summary not to exceed 50 words), a maximum of 3 tables and figures (total) and up to 10 references.

Patient Information
Peer Review Process
The original articles are evaluated by two reviewers under the double-blind modality. Once the evaluator accepts to arbitrate the manuscript, he/she has 15 days to send the comments. The authors must submit a new version of the corrected manuscript. Any new modifications made by the evaluators will be sent again to the authors.
Publication Frequency
The Revista Argentina de Cardiología is published bimonthly in both printed and online versions. The articles of the journal will be published collectively as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents. Individual items will be published as soon as they are ready, by adding them to the "current issue's" Table of Contents.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate full open access to its contents based on the principle of supplying free investigation material to the readers and encouraging greater sharing of knowledge.
