For more than six months, the world has suffered apandemic called COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 19),which, originating in Wuhan, China, quickly spreadto the rest of the planet. Its causal agent, the severeacute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARSCoV-2), has become a serious threat worldwide, witha distinctive feature, the speed of its transmissionwith concomitant exponential growth of the illness.Although its lethality is less than that of other familymembers, the rapid increase in cases and its impact onthe health systems, leading to an early exhaustion ofresources, means that this virus has clearly surpassedits predecessors.
